POTTERY. Holyland. Judaea under Hasmoneans?. (90 mm tall x 60 mm wide). A Judaean round bodied jug with a long neck. The vessel terminates with a wide trumpeted lip. A single small handle extends from the lower neck under an embellishment that slightly enlarges the neck at a point and terminates on the shoulder of the body of the jug. 5 concentric lines are painted onto the body in the center of the piece. Opposite of the body, a design with 5 circles adorns the field on the shoulder of the jug. Some wear and minor abrasions present, otherwise intact. |
