CAESAR AVG F DOMITIANVS COS VI, laureate head right / ROMA, S C across field, Roma standing left, holding Victory and spear. RIC II.1 –; RPC II –; Cf. Nomos Obolos 17, lot 651. Dark green patina with areas of red and brown, cleaning scratches, smoothing, earthen deposits, some roughness, pitting. Good Fine. Prominent centering holes on each side confirms that this is not a product of the Rome mint. Extremely rare, this is apparently the second known example. |
