OIL LAMP. Holyland. Byzantine Period. 6th-9th Cent. CE. A molded oil lamp with two holes; a larger hole in the center of the lid and a smaller hole forming a raised area functioning as a nozzle. Small handle at the back of the lamp, with piercing central. Molded design of semi-circles within linear border present but worn. Base has an impression of a palm tree. Some wear but otherwise intact. |
