PB Seal (25mm, 26.07 g, 12h). + ΠЄTR(OV) AΠO/ [VΠ]ATωN S ΓЄ/[NI]K(OV) KOMM/[...], crowned, helmeted, and cuirassed bust of Constantine IV facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield; uncertain indiction year around / AΠOΘHKHC/ A S B KIΛI/KIAC, crowned facing busts of Heraclius and Tiberius, both wearing chlamys and holding globus cruciger. DOCBS –; cf. BLS 137 and 146 (for similar examples) and 154-55 (for examples at the Apothekai of Isauria and Armenia respectively). Even gray and tan patina. Near EF. Excellent and remarkably clear. Unique and unpublished for Cilicia. Superior to the Gorny & Mosch 208, 2549 example from Isauria which hammered for 2800 EUR. |
