Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (22.5mm, 4.15 g, 1h). Londinium (London) mint. Radiate and draped bust right / Minerva, helmeted, standing left, holding olive branch and spear and resting hand on shield set on ground to right; B|E//MLXXI. RIC V 13. Dark green-brown patina. VF. Extremely rare. Though known in RIC (1933), there are none with B|E in CoinArchives nor noted by Webb in the 1907 NC catalog. Only two with S|C noted by Webb and with one in CoinArchives as well as one with S|P. This the rarest of the known mintmarks.
