POTTERY. Magna Graecia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. (125 mm wide x 75 mm tall). A molded bowl in red slip with figures and flowers surrounding an open field on the lower half of the bowl. At the foot, a molded flower is surrounded by a double line. The center of the bowl has a field surrounded by a thicker raised line. Inside, a running pattern of designs similar to elongated H’s surround. The lip of the bowl is rounded and slightly trumpeted. Discoloration and loss of slip at points. Minor chips on the lip. |
