Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (23mm, 4.50 g, 12h). Uncertain mint. IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVGG, radiate and draped bust right / PA X AVG, Pax standing left, holding olive branch and spear; (retrograde S)|R//–. RIC V –. Dark green patina, irregular flan, smoothing scratches. Good VF. Extremely rare and unpublished.
An interesting coin. The obverse with the less common two GG’s at the end of the legend. On the reverse, Pax oddly holding a spear and with an unusual mint mark combination across the field.
