Helmeted head of Athena right; grape bunch behind helmet / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind, grape bunch above tail. Taylor, Birds Group 2.3, 38 and 39 = CNG 46, lot 607 and CNG 35, lot 433(respectively); cf. Nicolet-Pierre & Amandry 24-9 (didrachm [for obv.]); Bopearachchi, Sophytes –; SNG ANS –; SMAK pp. 64-70; HGC 12, –. Find patina, earthen deposits, some roughness and pitting. Good VF. Very rare.
