Ex ‘Nordic Hoard’.

When the Nazis occupied Norway in early 1940, the nation’s gold reserves were transferred to the United Kingdom and then on to the United States and Canada for safe keeping. There, the reserves were partly sold off to fund the Norwegian government in exile. In 1988, Oslo Mynthandel purchased 100,484 of the remaining coins and offered them to the numismatic market.
