Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (22.5mm, 4.756 g). ‘C’ mint. Radiate and cuirassed bust right / Moneta standing left, holding scales and cornucopia; S|C//C. RIC V 284 var. (bust type). Glossy dark brown patina with some toned trace silvering and spots of verdigris, slight weakness, some faint smoothing scratches. EF. The C across the field in the mint mark altered to an S. The cuirass very ornately decorated despite not being intended as a trabea.
