POTTERY. Roman. 2nd -3rd Cent. CE. (200 mm tall x 140 mm wide). A wheel thrown pitcher with red glaze and white glaze highlights. Flat footed tear shaped body meets squat neck that extends into a flared spout with rounded lip. Handle attached at neck and body. Partial glaze on top half of body in red slip. At 3/4s height on body, three concentric circles in white glaze. Minor loss of white glaze. Some dark staining and sandy deposits on one side. Intact. |
