Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (23.5mm, 4.05 g, 6h). Londinium (London) mint. IMP C C[A]RAVSIVS P F AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust left / PA X AVG, Pax standing left, holding olive branch and vertical scepter; S|P//MLXXI. RIC V –. Dark green and brown patina, edge split, slight rub, light scratches, clashed reverse die. VF. The clashing on the reverse very strong with Carausius’ portrait showing through significantly. Extremely rare. This bust type unlisted for the type in the old RIC V.
