Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (23.5mm, 4.03 g, 7h). ‘C’ mint. IMP C CARAVSIVS P F AVG, radiate and draped bust right / PROVI D EN AVG, Providentia standing left, holding wand over globe set at feet to left and cornucopia; S|C//C. RIC V – but cf. 373 and 376 (for similar issues). Glossy dark brown patina, slight weakness, faint cleaning scratches. EF. Rare.
