Andronicus III Palaeologus. 1328-1341. Æ Stamenon (24mm, 3.70 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Crowned facing figure of Andronicus, wearing loros, holding labarum and globus crucgier / St. Demetrius standing facing, holding spear and resting hand on shield set on ground to right. DOC 887-9; LPC p. 122, 9; SB 2477. Dark brown surfaces, a couple old spots of corrosion, a few scratches. Good Fine. There is some disagreement as to the obverse/reverse of this issue. LPC’s cataloging has been followed here with Andronicus as the obverse.
