ANCIENT THEMES. Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ Cast ‘Sestertius’ (34mm, 25.48 g, 6h). Paduan type. Later cast after Giovanni da Cavino (1500-1570). Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Galley right under full sail. Johnson & Martini 1660-8; Klawans 1 (same dies?). Rough brown surfaces with touches of green, scrape across Hadrian’s head. Good Fine. A rare type in the Paduan series.
