NEAR EAST or EGYPT, Uncertain mint. Mid-late 5th century BC. AR Tetradrachm (20mm, 15.57 g, 8h). Imitating Athens. Head of Athena right, with frontal eye, wearing earring, necklace, and [crested] Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent to left, AΘE to right; all within incuse square. Unpublished in the standard references. For prototype, cf. Starr Periods II–IV. Lightly toned. In NGC encapsulation 4632667-001, graded AU, Strike: 3/5, Surface: 4/5. Extremely rare imitation of an early Classical owl.
