Griffin with curved wing seated left, raising left forepaw; Σ-M-OP clockwise around from upper left; to lower left, potbellied satyr dancing facing, head right / Quadripartite incuse square. May, Abdera, Group III, 110 (A95/P89); AMNG II 29; HGC 3, 1133; BMC 4 = Regling, Antike 228 (same dies); Jameson 1030 (same dies); Locker-Lampson 128 = Weber 2371 (same dies). Lightly toned with traces of find patina, minor porosity, short hairline flan crack, a few light scratches. Near EF. Rare issue, only eleven examples recorded by May, and just two in CoinArchives. |
