CILICIA, Tarsus. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (37mm, 28.77 g, 6h). Radiate and cuirassed bust left, seen from the front, right hand raised, holding Nike in left / Gordian standing facing, head left, holding Nike and long scepter; bound Persian captive seated to left. RPC VII.2 3067; SNG BN 1723 (same dies); SNG Levante 1146 (same dies). Dark brown patina, light pitting, minor smoothing. Good VF. Rare.
