Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Denarius (19mm, 2.84 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck winter AD 114-early AD 116. Laureate bust with bare chest, wearing aegis and balteus / Felicitas standing left, holding caduceus and cornucopia. RIC II 343 var. (bust type); Woytek 519t+; RSC 278 var. (same). Attractive, slightly iridescent toning. Good VF. Woytek cites five examples of this rare and interesting bust type for this issue.
