OIL LAMP. Holyland. Roman. 2nd-3rd Cent. CE. A molded oil lamp with large central hole and ridge defining a clear lip around the center and down the nozzle, which tapers at one end, with a single piercing at the end. Opposite the nozzle, a fin shaped handle extends from the lid with a single indentation centrally. The base has a foot defined with three ridges defining a circle in the middle of the lamp. Red slip present over lamp, blackening at the wick from use.
