OIL LAMP. Holyland. Byzantine Period. 6th-9th Cent. CE. A molded oil lamp with central bordered roundele and large hole. The lamp tapers to form a nozzle at one end with a single hole at the end. To the other end, a wide handle with raised portion. Rows of circles, triangles and similar shapes surround linear borders around the central hole and again on the handle. Wear present over the example. Blackening at the end of the nozzle from use. Intact.
