THRACE, Hadrianopolis. temp. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Diassarion (18mm, 3.70 g, 6h). Labor of Herakles issue. Laureate head of Herakles right / Herakles and the Lernaean Hydra: Herakles standing left, grappling with the Lernaean Hydra, which he is about to strike with his club; behind, bow and arrows in quiver. Jurukova, Hadrianopolis 709 (V298/R670); RPC VII.2 786.7 (this coin). Green patina, slight roughness, areas of filled die on obverse. Good VF. Rare.
