Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. AR Denarius (16.5mm, 3.65 g, 12h). Emesa mint. Struck AD 193. IMP CAE L SEPT SE V PERT AVG COS II, laureate head left / VICTOR IVST AVG, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond. Cf. RIC IV 427A (for similar); cf. RSC 739-40 (same); Giessener Münzhandlung 90, 1056. Toned, light deposits. VF. Extremely rare with left facing bust and this obverse legend. One of only five known. Superior to the Nomos coin which hammered for 1500 CHF.
