Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (20.5mm, 4.08 g, 1h). Uncertain mint. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right bust right / [CO]NCORDIA MILITVM, Concordia seated left, dropping incense into altar to left and holding cornucopia. Cf. RIC V 755 (for similar). Dark green-brown patina. VF.

From the Dr. Malcolm Lyne Collection, purchased from Mike Vosper, 16 March 2012.

A very interesting coin. Possibly unique and unpublished as the obverse legend, though difficult to determine in its entirety, is different than the RIC 755 example. The reverse may be the same, however, as RIC was uncertain regarding the item in Concordia’s left hand which is clear on this example as incense being dropped into an altar rather than a patera.
