THRACE, Chersonesos. Circa 386-338 BC. AR Hemidrachm (13mm, 2.39 g). Forepart of lion right, head reverted / Quadripartite incuse square with alternating raised and sunken quarters; kantharos in one sunken quarter, pellet-over-I monogram in the opposite. McClean –; HGC 3, 1437; Nomos Obolos 5, lot 86 (same obv. die). Lightly toned, a little off center. VF. Rare with these control marks. |
