Crowned bust right (Laker D, 1). obverse legend reads ‘henric 8’ and ends ‘hIB RЄX’ / Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée; saltires in cross ends. Whitton (xiii); North 1798; SCBC 2338. Toned. VF. Very rare.

Struck after Henry’s proclamation of January 1542 asserting his kingship of Ireland. Prior to this date English monarchs had been styled Lord of Ireland.
