TUDOR. Elizabeth I. 1558-1603. AR Sixpence (25mm, 3.15 g, 6h). Milled coinage. Tower (London) mint; im: star. Dated 1562. Crowned bust (C) left, with decorated dress, wearing ruff; rose to right / Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée. Borden & Brown 24, dies O2/R1; North 2026; SCBC 2595. Slightest cabinet friction on high points otherwise richly toned with flashes of iridescent blue and gold. Superb EF. Exceptional.

A note from the consignor: The proof-like fields are deep and there are no marks in fields. This coin has not seen circulation. A magnificent coin in every way.
