Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monogram in left field, maeander pattern in exergue. Vădan Group 1, dies 10/36; Price 2028; Meydancikkale 1455 (same dies). Bright surfaces, traces of find patina and horn silver, light roughness, a few minor marks. Good VF. Extremely rare issue, only the Meydancikkale coin published, none in Pella, nor CoinArchives (each site has one example, but they are both misidentified). |
