Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (23mm, 5.59 g, 7h). ‘C’ mint. IMP C CARAVSIVS P AVG, radiate and draped bust right / MERCVRI C O NS AVG, Mercury standing left, holding purse and caduceus; S|C//–. RIC V 468 var. (rev. legend). Dark olive brown-green patina with some toned partial silvering and verdigris, minor flan flaw. Good VF. Extremely rare.
