Sir Frederick William Leith-Ross was a Scottish economist who served as chief adviser to the U.K. government from 1932 to 1945. He was involved in the various negotiations with Nazi Germany in the lead up to World War II and, in 1935, he represented the U.K. on a mission to China to lobby for a currency reform. He was also instrumental in the development of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration during and after the war.
