Umayyad Caliphate, Bronze coinage. Æ Fals (21.5mm, 1.63 g, 5h). Qandabil mint. Dated AH 117 (AD 735). Kalima in three lines, four double annulets in outer border / Mint and date around Muhammad / rasul / Allah. Cf. SARC 49 (13 June 2024), lot 128 (same reverse die). Fine, cleaned and the reverse pitted. Extremely rare.

Qandabil was name given by the Arabs to the town of Gandava, captured in AH 92 during the Muslim invasion of Sind led by Muhammad b. al-Qasim. These extremely rare fulus are the only mediaeval Islamic coins with this mint-name.
