Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (19.5mm, 2.79 g, 8h). ‘C’ mint. IMP CARAVSIVS AVG, radiate and draped bust right / VIRTV TI AVG, Hercules standing right, holding club set on ground to left and bow; lion’s skin hanging over arm; C. RIC V – but cf. 1057 (for similar issue at the uncertain mint) = Hunter 200; CGB MBS 13, 1034 (same rev. die). Green patina, cleaning scratches. Near VF. Very rare.
