Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (19.5mm, 4.35 g, 8h). Uncertain mint. IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / [PA X] AVG, Pax standing left, holding [olive branch] and transverse scpeter; altar surmounted by globe at feet to left. RIC V – but cf. 893 (for similar reverse type). Dark green patina. In NGC encapsulation 4279257-006, graded Ch XF, Strike: 4/5, Surface: 4/5. Extremely rare variety with altar and globe.
