Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (19mm, 3.62 g, 6h). ‘C’ mint. IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG, radiate and draped bust right / VIRT VS AVG, Jupiter and Hercules standing facing one another, Jupiter holding thunderbolt and scepter and Hercules holding club, together clasping hands; SMC. RIC V –; CNG 570, 501 (same dies). Green patina. Near VF. Extremely rare.
