EGYPT, Alexandria. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Potin Tetradrachm (22mm, 12.41 g, 12h). Dated RY 7 (AD 243/4). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Serapis enthroned left, wearing kalathos, holding long scepter, extending his right hand toward Kerberos seated at his feet; on throneback, Nike standing right, holding wreath and palm frond; L Z (date) across field. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) 4776; K&G 72.142; RPC VII.2 3879; Emmett 3425.7. Dark brown patina, light roughness and smoothing on obverse. VF. Excellent details on Kerberos.
