Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (24x30mm, 3.63 g, 6h). Londinium (London) mint. Radiate and draped bust right / Pax standing left, holding olive branch and vertical scepter; F|O//III. Cf. RIC 101 (for similar issue). Toned near complete silvering with verdigris deposits, minor edge split, minor die shift, a few scratches on reverse under tone. Near EF. Struck on an unusual spread and oval flan. Possibly 1907 Little Orme’s Head Hoard no. 48. Matching in detail exactly except for the die axis. The ‘III’ in the exergue a blundered ‘ML’.
