Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (22.5mm, 4.04 g, 12h). Londinium (London) mint. [CAR]AVSI VS A VG, radiate, helmeted, and cuirassed bust left, holding spear over shoulder and shield / PA X AVG, Pax standing left, holding olive branch and transverse scepter; F|O//ML. RIC V 115 var. (direction of scepter). Dark green-brown patina, hairline flan crack, light roughness, shallow dig. Good Fine. Extremely rare. Possibly unique with the scepter transverse rather than vertical.
