Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (22.5mm, 3.19 g, 6h). ‘C’ mint. INVIC[TO ET CARAVSIO A]VG, jugate busts of Sol, radiate, and Carausius, radiate and cuirassed left / FOR [TV]NA, Fortuna seated left on wheel, holding rudder and cornucopia; IIC. RIC V 234; CNG 571, 1141. Dark green patina, roughness. Fine. Extremely rare. The ‘II’ in the mint mark a blundered ‘M’.
