Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (19mm, 3.12 g, 4h). Uncertain mint. IMP CARAVSIVS P L C [sic] (intended as P F G), radiate and draped bust right / V I C TO, Uncertain figure standing left, holding flower in outstretched hand and transverse scepter. Cf. RIC V.5 1667 (forthcoming; for similar issue); RIC V –. Brown patina. VF. Extremely rare. Very similar to the RIC V.5 1667 (Triton XXVIII, lot 780) coin. Possibly by the same hand.
