GERMANY, Breisach. Besieged by the Swedes, 1633. AR 48 Kreuzer Klippe (31x31mm, 16.32 g, 2h). Thirty Years’ War issue. Dated 1633. Three coats-of-arms; rose at center / Legend in five lines. Korchnak 121a; KM 3.1. Toned, green deposits, hairlines, trace of mount. In encapsulation , graded VF.

In 1633, the French besieged the strategically important fortress of Breisach. In October of that year, the combined forces of the Spanish, under the Duke of Feria, and the Bavarians successfully lifted the siege.
