GALATIA, Pessinos. Mid 1st century BC. Æ (25mm, 16.00 g, 12h). Jugate draped busts right of Attis, wearing Phrygian cap, and Kybele Agditis, wearing turreted crown / Lion seated left, right paw placed on tympanon; caps of the Dioskouroi flanking, monogram to right. HGC 7, 766; SNG BN 2564. Earthen dark green patina. Near VF. Rare.

Pessinos was the capital of the Tolistobogii, a Gallic tribe that had settled in the area. The city was best known for its temple of Kybele, who was known locally as Agditis.
