IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG P M, laureate head right / TR P COS VII DES VIII P P, dolphin right above filleted tripod. RIC II.1 74; RSC 568c var. (ravens below); BMCRE 22; BN 19. Light toning, some original find patina in legends. Near EF. Well struck and attractive.

Most "atonement series" denarii of Domitian were struck during the reign of Titus. This type, and a few others, were briefly continued under Domitian, as Augustus, and are scarce as such. A nicely centered and attractive coin.
