A very rare sigla first noted by Bendall from only a single example found in the Constantine XI hoard published in 1991. This coin is from the same dies as that example, #25 in the hoard, and is in superior condition. These dies are likely from a very late issue of John VIII and this coin is sure to be of interest to Palaeologan collectors.
