HANOVER. George II. 1727-1760. CU Halfpenny. Dated 1750. This piece has been recarved to remove the king’s cuirass and all of Britannia’s clothes. In fine script below the bust is carved, “F Calzo Culo.” Calzo culo is Spanish sexual slang literally translating to “I wedge ass,” undoubtedly attesting to the artist’s proclivities. Brown surfaces. Good VF. Exceptional workmanship. |
