Folio, pp. fine photographic plate as frontispiece, title printed in red and black, vii, 319, (2), 98 very fine illustrations, some in colour, 2 single page map plates; xi, map, 66 superb plates all printed on card. Both volumes in full brown cloth, gilt, reproduction bronze (litra?) of Alaisa affixed to the upper board of the text volume. Upper section of text volume and spines lightly sunned, light scuffs and wear to extremities, lacking the reverse medallion on the plates volume else internally clean. Overall a very good set of this beautifully produced and highly sought after reference. Clain-Stefanelli 2202*. Daehn 2972. Grierson p. 63.
