THRACE, Byzantion. Circa 90-80 BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm, 16.10 g, 11h). In the name and types of Lysimachos. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; monogram to inner left, BY below throne, ornate trident in exergue. Callataÿ Group 3 var. (unlisted monogram); Müller –; HGC 3, 1406. Lightly toned, roughness and die wear on reverse. VF.

Although the monogram is unlisted, the style of the obverse is identical to that found on the earlier obverse dies of Callataÿ’s Group 3 issues.
