ROMAN. Provincial. Lot of three (3) River-god themed provincial coins, Cilicia.

1) CILICIA, Flaviopolis-Flavias. Domitian. AD 81-96. Æ (24mm, 9.08 g, 12h). Dated CY 17 (AD 89/90). Laureate head right; c/m: Bust of Athena right, in rectangular incuse / Tyche, veiled and turreted, seated right on throne, holding grain ears; at feet, river-god Pyramus swimming right; ЄTOYC ZI (date) in legend. RPC II 1758; SNG BN 2167-70; SNG Levante 1530. For c/m: Howgego 190. Dark green patina, roughness. Near Fine.

2) CILICIA, Mopsouestia-Mopsos. Claudius. AD 41-54. Æ (24mm, 5.60 g, 12h). Dated year 5 (Struck AD 45-51). Bare head right / Tyche, veiled and turreted, seated right on rocks, holding grain ears; below, river-god swimming right; ETOYΣ Ē (date) to left. B. Tahberer, “A Series of Coins from an Uncertain Caesarea,” in NC 175 (2015), pp. 47-55 (for attribution to Mopsouestia-Mopsos); RPC I 4086 (as Cilicia, Uncertain Caesarea). Red-brown surfaces, porous. Fine.

3) CILICIA, Mopsouestia-Mopsos. Faustina Junior. Augusta, AD 147-175. Æ (17mm, 4.15 g, 12h). Dated CY 230 (AD 162/3). Draped bust right / River-god Pyramus swimming right; ЄT ΛC (date) in legend. von Aulock, Mopsus –; RPC IV.3 Online 10294; SNG BN –; SNG Levante Supp. 315. Brown patina, scratches. Near Fine. Very rare.. For Lot: Near Fine-Fine. LOT SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS. Three (3) coins in lot.
