THRACE, Philippopolis. Domitian. AD 81-96. Æ (40.5mm, 22.03 g, 7h). Struck AD 88 to January 89. Laureate head right / Tyche, wearing calathus, standing left, holding patera and grain ears; at her feet to left, river-god Hebrus reclining right, leaning on urn and holding reed; a second reed behind him. Varbanov, Philippopolis II.5.7.1 (O6/R1) = RPC II 351.12 (this coin); Mouchmov, Philippopolis 3; Varbanov 622. Green patina with earthen green highlights, light roughness, struck on a broad flan. Near VF. An interesting bilingual coin with obverse in Latin and reverse in Greek.
