The Triumvirs. Octavian. Late 41 BC. AR Denarius (17.5mm, 3.67 g, 10h). Military mint traveling with Octavian in Italy. Bare head right / Equestrian statue of Octavian galloping left, his right hand extended. Crawford 518/2; CRI 299; Sydenham 1317; RSC 227; RBW 1802. Toned, banker’s mark on obverse, off center, scratches. Near VF.

The reverse image is that of the equestrian statue awarded to Octavian by the Senate after his defeat of Brutus and Cassius at the Battle of Philippi in 42 BC.
