Gordian III. AD 238-244. AR Denarius (18.5mm, 3.35 g, 12h). Rome mint, 3rd officina. 7th emission, mid AD 240. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Securitas Publica seated left on throne, holding scepter and resting head on hand. RIC IV 130; RSC 340. Lightly toned, some underlying luster, a few faint hairlines, a bit of die rust and trace deposits on reverse. Superb EF.
